Gardner defined the front entrance with a mahogany gateway and softened the driveway with boxwoods, mondo grass, and an olive tree.Open-Door Policy: French doors can be flung open for easy indoor-outdoor living. In the kitchen, upper cabinets with glass fronts mix with open shelving.Neutral Territory: The expanded living area is outfitted with luxe fabrics and finishes in shades of cream, charcoal, and blue. (Below)Fresh Start - Charleston HomeIn the kitchen, existing countertops were refreshed with an iridescent tile backsplash and gilded pendant lights.Garden Party: Upholstered furnishings from Barlow Tyrie, lead planters from Restoration Hardware, and custom ipe wood benches set an inviting scene under the shade of a giant Tuuci umbrella.Bulbs installed by local firm Moonlighting illuminate alfresco evening meals.Taller plantings are grounded by mahonia, creeping fig, and seasonal blooms.
