Chefs Potluck

The Party: When you gather over a dozen of the Holy City’s best chefs to feed the masses on a Spring afternoon at Middleton Place, it’s hard to decide whether to linger by the food (such as Evo chef Matt Connelly’s burricotta and kielbasa sliders, Glass Onion's alligator stew, or Harbinger pastry chef Greer Gilchrist's strawberry loaf cake) or roam the gardens with a glass of rosé. The 11th annual fundraiser for Lowcountry Local First’s (LLF) Growing New Farmer's Program was a greatt success, and it wasn’t just due to the mouth-watering small plates made witha bounty of locally-sourced ingredients. All proceeds benefitted LLF’s initiative to train the next generation of local farmers and farm business owners. The Highlight: Representatives from local nonprofit Compost Rangers providing knowledge on how to keep sustainability in check, even while enjoying a party Overheard: “There’s an art to getting full, and that’s knowing there is always room for a chocolate tahini brownie.” Beneficiary: Lowcountry Local First
