TEEING OFF: “The golf course was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony,” says the couple of their 5:00 p.m. wedding.POP OF COLOR: Because the reception’s dominant colors were white, black, and pink, the bride and groom’s seats stood out with these tropical-hued bunches that were gifted to the couple by Tiger Lily Florist.PINK AND PERSONAL: Jaime says she chose a bouquet of pink lilies to honor her father, who passed away eight years ago. “They made me feel like he was there and holding onto them gave me peace,” she says.SMART MOVE: Turning magnolia leaves in different directions created two-hued accent pieces.PEARLY WHITES: Flower girl Jayda, the bride’s goddaughter, was all smiles in her ivory outfit complete with pearls.STRUT YOUR STUFF: Tamars’ son and best man, Tamars Jr., who celebrated his 9th birthday the day of the wedding, poses here with ring bearer Jeremiah, Jaime’s nephew.LEAP OF FAITH: Tamars and Jaime sealed their vows with the African tradition of “jumping the broom,” which symbolizes sweeping away the old and welcoming the new. The couple says their ceremony was dedicated to the memories of the bride’s father and the groom’s grandfather.RIGHT IN WHITE: Jaime wore a Mori Lee original gown from Jean’s Bridal while Tamars looked sharp in a matching white suit.ARMED PROCESSION: Jaime was escorted down the aisle by her brother and paternal grandfather.A TENTED AFFAIR: The high-topped tent, provided by the Cassique Clubhouse, allowed for a spacious reception. The draped white fabric and one clear wall balanced out the hall’s dark floor.IN BLOOM: Tiger Lily Florist created centerpieces of bright pink roses, lime hydrangea, and green fern. The larger arrangements were elevated, keeping the table conversation-friendly.SWEPT AWAY: The broom, adorned with a bright floral bundle and satin ribbon, synced with the wedding’s palette.GOOD EATS: The Clubhouse provided buffet stations of chicken, steak, white rice, steamed veggies, and pasta.HOW SWEET IT IS: The buttercream cake (with buttercream icing), from ABC by Ma’Shea, was crowned with a one-of-a-kind bejeweled topper, handmade by the bride herself. Jaime says of Ma’Shea: “She was a Godsend. My original baker fell through 10 days before the wedding. She came in and designed, baked, and delivered the cake as if I’d hired her over a year ago.”CAPTURE EVERY MOMENT: Guests hammed it up in the Shutterbooth and four-photo reels were given as personalized favors. “Six months later our guests are still talking about it,” says Jaime.NIGHT MOVES: In addition to buffet stations and a dining area, the reception tent housed a large dance floor, two bars, and a stage for DJ Dre, who Jaime says “kept the crowd dancing all night.”
