Society 1858 Winter Party

The Party: Society 1858, a group of young professional patrons of The Gibbes Museum of Art, hosted its annual Winter Party. With this year’s theme, “The Dark Room,” the Lenhardt Garden was given a mystical makeover for the night, complete with deep purple lighting and a collection of captivating, black-and-white photographs on display from local artists such as Tim Hussey, Raven Roxanne, Sully Sullivan, and more. The main event was a captivating set by Myth of an Atom, a Charleston and New York City-based audiovisual performance collaboration that creates experimental music (a hybrid of techno, jazz, and pop styles) while abstract images and beams of light are projected onto a sheer screen shrouding the musician and DJ. Throughout the evening, guests partook in a raffle and mingled with fellow arts supporters while enjoying an array of finger foods (including various sliders and Hamby Catering’s riff on s'mores for dessert).
