Improved Outlook: With wall-to-wall windows revealing an Intracoastal panorama, the new addition transforms what was a screened porch and dark den into an outdoors-oriented living space.Circle Up: A peaceful koi pond from Sheila Wertimer’s first-round design still complements the garden post-revision.Ground Strokes: Wertimer’s landscaping cascades down to the putting green and dock with a boathouse.River Walk: A gateway offers an invitation toward the Wappoo through a formal allée edged by crape myrtles and old Charleston brick. An Easy Out: Contemporary, casual, and flooded with light, the den is a sun-room and then some.Leather panels add warmth and texture on the walls, and two sitting areas accommodate cozy conversations or big parties.Fired Up: An outdoor kitchen makes grilling effortless for poolside dining.Round About: The pool’s graceful shape is echoed by a stone patio, which Wertimer further defined with dwarf palms and climbing fig.Iron grates were added to the existing brick fireplace to dress it up a bit. The outdoor room is a popular spot for oyster roasts and entertaining.A Stone’s Throw: Mexican river rocks add texture and function (covering spots where sod suffered from too much shade) along a path toward the river and boathouse.
