Gibbes on the Street: Light Up the Night

The Party: With an array of colorful spotlights illuminating the Gibbes Museum of Art, and the vibrant, celebratory attire of partygoers mingling on Meeting Street, the 10th annual Gibbes on the Street party delivered on its promise to “Light up the Night.” More than 30 restaurants and an all-star line-up of chefs created decadent sweet and savory small bites for guests to sample—standouts included Charleston Grill’s Filipino coconut ceviche, The Obstinate Daughter’s beet ravioli, and cones of salmon poke from Red Drum. After tasting each unique dish, sipping signature cocktails, and mingling with local artists, guests danced to lively jazz and pop hits from The First Class Band. Behind the musicians, a glowing neon sign spelled out “Art is the reason”—a fitting reminder of what the evening was all about. Highlight: Wildflour Pastry’s glittering golden macarons—filled with passionfruit, strawberry, and prosecco—were incredibly sweet and visually stunning. Overheard: “I can’t believe I just met Jonathan Green!” Beneficiary: The Gibbes Museum of Art
