Flower Pressing with Southern Bloom Press: Charleston Magazine Club Event

The Party: Members of the Charleston Magazine Club gathered at Uptown Social to partake in a happy hour with a crafty twist. Amid the pink tablecloths and rosé, guests were invited to create their own pressed flower designs with the help of Lauren Whiteside Mann, founder and owner of Southern Bloom Press, featured in Charleston mag’s May issue. The main event buzzed with light chatter as club members enjoyed cocktails and light house-made bites while getting creative with the petals. When the tutorial came to an end, the newly-minted flower pressers took home their finished products, each unique and making for the perfect piece of handmade decor. Highlight: Club member Meredith Siemen’s knack for flower pressing—her design featured a striking color gladiate and was a favorite among attendees Overhead: “This is where your creativity comes in—reconstructing the flower, and putting it back together in your own design.” Beneficiaries: Charleston Magazine Club
